Orange & Blossom Review

You know how much I love my bling and I love the amazing jewelry offered by Orange & Blossom so much! Not only do they make great bridesmaid gifts or great focal pieces that help bring attention on your actual wedding but they translate so well to everyday wear! Lisa Marie was so generous in offering me an amazing piece to do a review on!

My package arrived quickly and I just loved the presentation! Lisa Marie put in so much effort and love into her packaging and it really showed! The piece that I reviewed came in a box with soft cotton to pad the necklace and came with the logo on the box. This box was neatly tied up in a very cute pink box. the whole package was wrapped very nicely in pink tissue paper and I had such a great time opening it up! The package also came with an adorable little pencil that had "It's going to be a beautiful day" engraved on it!

Isn't this packaging adorable?? Don't mind the shadow of my huge head! Eeek!


Me rocking the necklace....sadly this was the best shot! The other shots were shot badly and made me look like I had a triple chin! Which I don't dear readers!

I was lucky enough to be able to review the Balancing Pearls Necklace in Silver! This beautiful necklace is lovingly handcrafted in San Francisco and features a small tower of round freshwater pearls balanced in between delicate silver petals! The pendent dangles on a very fine chain that is 16 inches in length! This necklace is extremely delicate looking yet it has a great weight and strength to it! I really liked the fine details in the petals and each petal had such great detail in it which was really appreciated. It makes a big impact on everything that you wear and I love how well it goes with any outfit! I have received many compliments on it and I love to layer it with many other necklaces that I have and I love wearing it alone!

Trudie Davies Designs: Interview and Giveaway!

Today’s interview and giveaway comes all the way from Down Under: Australia! Trudie Davies is an Etsy seller that specializes in making classic designs with a twist! She uses Sterling Silver in all of her designs and incorporates hints of copper and brass as well as
gemstones. K nowing that she uses such quality materials in all of her designs you know that they will be sturdy and long lasting no matter how much you may bang it up! Trudie’s designs are very versatile because not only are they a great everyday jeans and t-shirt jewellery but you can add on some bling to spice it up for special occasions or a night on the town! I think my favourite pieces would have to be any of her designs involving the sweet little tweety birds! I also love her customized name pendent....very Carrie! I also love how she photographs all her jewellry! Very pretty!

Tell us a l ittle bit about yourself:
I am a mom of an 18 year old girl who has just left home to go to college to do Law and Scie nce. I also have an 11year old boy who is still in primary school. The kids are great and keep my husband and I busy. I work for The Age Newspaper, our daily metro paper. I went to art school many years ago. That is where I learnt silver-smithing and jewellery making skills. I l oved that time and received distinctions for my jewellery work. I then went on to have my family and am really enjoying life now cause I can go back and do what I love doing. It real ly is so exciting to be making jewellery and running my small etsy business.

When and what made you want to open up your shop?
When I ca me across Etsy, I was real excited because for one there was an opportunity to move out items that I created. It is no point of making things if you can't off load them. I only have so many fingers, toes etc. Also the silver merchants can get real expensive! So etsy
has been a low cost real great opportunity for me to get into.

Tell us a little bit more about your creation process:
Well as well as make jewellery I am a painter. Both with jewellery and painting I seem to conjure up designs in my mind. With jewellery I then have to work out the functionality of the design. Jewellery needs to be functional with great design. Over time I have just made
jewellery pieces that take my fancy. It is now that I am starting to develop a style. This is not evid ent in the trudiedavies store as yet. It is possible that I will need to open a new shop just to showcase this new style that is emerging from me. That will all be in the future....waiting to happen. This new style is one that is based on silver work and blue and green colour stones. I love blues and greens.

Where do yo u draw inspiration for all your amazing designs?
A lot of my work draws inspiration from the geometric shapes, blues, greens, images and beauty in design. I just do what I want and what takes my fancy.

If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
An Elephant cause they are so cool.

If you could have one super power what would it be and why?
Thats a hard one! To be a Movie Star and live in Malibu! Oh well not this time around ........HaHa! Maybe just live as a 30 yr old forever and ever cause the thought of old age is starting to sca re me! Or solve all the problems of poverty, starvation, exploitation and crime in one foul swoop! Oh and not to mention climate change! I don’t know something like that!
